Junya Watanabe & Taxi Driver
For the fall of 2006, Watanabe would cast a shadow of fear over the runway. An army of Travis Bickle clones descended onto the crowd in army-surplus outerwear while the score for Taxi Driver played in the background.
Watanabe claimed Bickle as a positive inspiration. "Men should take charge” he stated backstage. Though eerie, Watanabe made his mark, reminding his crowd that his eye is trained wonderingly on entirely alien cultures.
