“A Closed Feeling” - Number (N)ine

For Number (N)ine’s final collection “A Closed Feeling”, Takahiro Miyashita tapped American photographer Charles Peterson.
Feeling dismayed with the decline of his health in late 2009, Miyashita began to use his roots in punk rock as a source of inspiration. Peterson was similarly infatuated with the allure of punk music, documenting the grunge scene using abstract methods to portray rebellious youth culture.
Largely credited for his iconic stills of moshpits, crowd surfing and defiant ideology throughout the 90’s, the photos meshed brilliantly with Number (N)ine’s aesthetic. The designer took a photo taken at during punk festival Endfest ‘91 in Washington DC, and placed it on this vest as well as a matching blazer and suit pants.
